Pro Kabaddi: Surender Gill’s unbeaten super 10 helps UP Yoddhas beat Telugu Titans by 44-24

After suffering from a patchy run of form, UP Yoddhas raider Surender Gill announced his return to the points. And that too in some great style.

The 24-year-old raider came into the game when they needed him the most. Playing against the bottom dwelling team Telugu Titans, UP found themselves in troubled waters.

With their top raider Pradeep Narwal on the bench, they wanted someone to step up. And their best raider for the season decided to take his chances.

The first seven minutes of the game were very tense as the Titans fought bravely. And kept the scores levelled along with getting Pradeep Narwal on the bench.

Surender Gill completes his 4th super 10 of the season

That is when Surender Gill went into an important do-or-die raid and returned with a point to open his account for the night. Little did anyone know that there was a mountain to follow.

All the good work that Telugu Titans had managed in the opening moments of the game was undone towards the halftime. Their defense was in disarray and gave away too many easy points.

Leaving just two defenders on the court with less than 5 minutes to go.

Surender Gill accepted this challenge with both hands. He went into the raid and returned with 4 points to inflict an all-out on Telugu Titans.

The difference between the two teams can be understood from the margin of  lead UP Yoddhas had at Halftime. They lead the game by 20 points to 9 of Titans.

Surender Gill completed his super 10 in the 31st minute of the game. This was his 4th super 10 of the season.

The game didn’t had much fizz left in it as the Titans kept gifting points to UP Yoddhas.

As a result, the game ended at 44-24, which is a huge margin in modern Kabaddi.

This victory led UP Yoddhas above Patna Pirates in the points table. They are currently on 7th position with 24 points to their name from 8 matches.
