The first match of Tripple Panga night in Pro Kabaddi Season 9 saw the redemption of lost Tamil Thalivas. They defeated title favorite Jaipur Pink Panthers by an emphatic 11-point victory.
Earlier this week, Patna Pirates created an upset by beating the table toppers Dabang Delhi. And Tamil Thalivas followed in their footstep by defeating another table topping team.
Tamil Thalivas were one of the title favorites at the start of the season. They had everything it would have taken to win the title. Their acquisition of Pawan Sehrawat was the talking point of the tournament.
However, the star raider picked up an injury in the very first game of the season. Following which Tamil Thaliva had a slump and kept losing match one after the another.
Narender Hoshiyar completes his 3rd super 10
Now they have made a comeback into the tournament. And there is only one man who deserves all the credit for it: Narender Hoshiyar.
This star raider has been the talking point and turning point of Thalivas season.
He put up another great performance for them in the match against Pink Panthers.
Tamil Thalivas started the game in the most explosive fashion. And inflicted an all out on Pink Panthers in just 5:30 minutes. This put huge pressure on the inaugural champions’ morale.
This was clearly visible in the manner in which they approached the game in the first half. They were no where to be seen on the scene. And hence ended the first half trailing by the margin of 8 points to 20.
Tamil Thalivas could do no wrong in the first half. Their raiders and defenders turned up together to give them 9 points each.
The second half saw a slight revival in the Jaipur Pink Panthers’ morale. Their raider Arjun Deshwal managed to pick up 9 points, along with Bhavani Rajput (4). But it was just not enough.
Narender Hoshiyar who completed the 3rd super 10 of the seasons powered his team to a 11 point victory. Apart from his heroics it was the defense of Thalivas that ensured a huge victory.
With the 5 points from this game they sit on 11th position. While Jaipur remains in the top half despite the loss.
