Pro Kabaddi: Arjun Deshwal completes 200 raid points in PKL9
Arjun Deshwal has been in sublime form in the PKL 9. And he now has another accolade to his name to show for it.
The raider from Jaipur Pink Panthers became the first raider in the PKL9 to complete 200 points. Arjun achieved this feat while playing against the dark horse of this season Tamil Thalivas.
Arjun Deshwal has been a major contributor to Jaipur’s success in this season. Although it was a bad day for him on the mat, he still managed to accumulate 12 points. He is also the highest point scorer in the season with a total of 212 points to his name.
With this he emerged as the highest point scoring raider for the game. Outperforming his teammate Ajith Kumar by just 3 points.
Top Performance by Arjun Deshwal in PKL 9
Earlier in the season, Arjun also became the first player to complete 150 points in the tournament. Currently he is the highest point scoring raider in PKL 9.
Owing to a good performance by Arjun and Ajith in raiding and Ankush, Sahul in defense Jaipur Pink Panthers emerged victorious in the game against Thalivas.
The game started as a cagey affair with neither teams being able to pick points in raids. However, it was Jaipur’s defense that was active and they made sure to pick points.
Narender Kandola, who could have been a huge difference between the two sides, was taken care of Sahul and other defenders early on in the game. As a result, Thalivas couldn’t gain much traction.
On the other hand, Ajith provided great support to Arjun when he couldn’t perform. This brought some sense of balance in the Jaipur Pink Panther’s side ad enabled them to win the game by 15 points.
With this victory they go back to the second position on the table. They have a total of 59 points to their name from their 17 games. And are looking in great contention to finish in the top two spots of the table.
