Pandya and Kohli bring up half-centuries to propel India to a total of 168 in Semi Final of T20 World Cup 2022

Pandya and Kohli team up once more to reek mayhem.

Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli hold their own against England’s bowlers, forcing India to post a ‘above-par’ total. With both openers and star batsman SKY back in the pavilion, India was struggling at the midway point. Hardik joined in-form virat, and the two formed a partnership that helped to steady the ship.

Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya save India’s sinking inning

India were at 90 for the loss of four at the end of the 14th over when the duo took command of the situation. Kohli and Hardik combined for 100 runs towards the end of the over.

Chris Jordan, Mark Wood’s substitute, was brought back, and Virat hit his fourth fifty of the event. Hardik was always second fiddle.

Virat held one on to short third man just after reaching his half-century as Hardik relinquished responsibility.

With only 12 balls remaining in the innings, Sam Curran and Jordan were the only players with overs. India got 20 runs off Sam Curran’s 19th over, with Pant contributing a boundary.

Hardik Pandya stood tall once again in a critical knockout match. Over the last several years, he has been India’s go-to man, particularly in knockout matches. He introduced himself in the 2017 Champions Trophy finals and has subsequently made significant contributions in big games.

With only one over remaining, Pandya scooted a boundary and a six to help India reach 168. He finished with a 63 off 33, while Kohli had a 40-ball 50. The last ten overs saw 106 runs scored, putting the onus on the bowlers to limit England.
