Lucknow and Ahmedabad in IPL
Lucknow is one of the two new additions to the IPL 2022. Unlike its previous editions, there will be a 10-team league tournament this year. This won’t be the first time IPL will feature ten teams though. It has happened once in the past.
The other team besides Lucknow in IPL2022 is going to be Ahmedabad. They are yet to announce the name of their franchise.
Both the teams have had their chances to buy three players ahead of the mega auction. Lucknow has bought KL Rahul, Ravi Bishnoi and Marcus Stoinis. They have decided to name Rahul as their captain, whom they have purchased for a whopping amount of 17 crore rupees.
On the other hand, Ahmedabad has bought Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubhman Gill. They named Hardik Pandya, whom they claimed in 15 crores, as their captain.
According to sources, IPL begins from the 27th of March, which is a week ahead of the tournament’s scheduled start. As for now, BCCI has declared Mumbai and Pune to be the main venues. UAE and South Africa remain as backup venues for the marquee tournament.
