Getafe unveil on-loan Man Utd star Mason Greenwood

Getafe have unveiled their new signing Mason Greenwood. The club completed his loan signing from Manchester United on deadline day. Moreover, the fans also gave him a warm welcome.
Greenwood could make his La Liga Getafe debut against Osasuna on 17th September.
United released a statement last month in which they said that he would leave the club after a six-month internal club investigation.
Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, domestic violence and controlling behaviour in 2022. However, all charges were dropped later.
Mason Greenwood addresses Getafe fans
“I am very happy to be here,” Greenwood said.
“I have been training for four or five months, I am getting up to speed and have been training with my team-mates and feel quite good.
“We take it one game at a time and the next home game is coming in a few weeks and we will try to win and do our best.”
Getafe unveil ‘new controversial’ signing
Getafe held an open training session on Tuesday, where fans can meet and see the players train. Greenwood has a severely damaged reputation in England, but Getafe fans gave him a warm welcome. They also cheered on his goals in training and asked for his shirt.
After the training session, Greenwood took pictures with and signed merchandise for Getafe fans.
After the Luis Rubiales scandal in Spain, many people have been surprised with the lack of backlash that Getafe received for the move from both their own fans and elsewhere.
The two cases are not same, but Getafe President Angel Torres was one of the first to demand Rubiales’ resignation. But he took the stance that Greenwood was innocent until proven guilty.
