According to various reports in the Spanish media, Barcelona are studying the possibility sign Villarreal’s right back Juan Foyth this summer.
The Spanish giant’s right-back situation is quite of a mess as they only have Sergino Dest as an out-and-out right back at the moment but they are already in talks with Manchester United to sell him cause Xavi doesn’t count on him.
So that leaves only Roberto and Araujo who can solve the problem for Xavi temporarily but not for the whole season, hence the La Liga side are now looking at Foyth. It is believed that the talks between Barca and indeed Foyth’s representatives have been going on very well as they are very close to reaching an agreement on personal terms with the Argentine.

It is even reported in Spain that Villarreal are already exploring other options at right back in case Foyth leaves the club and hence they want be ready for any situation. But the main concern for Barcelona is the price tag that the Argentine has.
The only concern for Barcelona at the moment is the pricetag of Foyth. The only way of them signing the defender from Villarreal is by triggering his release clause of 42 millions. But of course, if there is pressure from the player that he wants to leave, the La Liga side may have to sell the man at a cheaper price than his release clause.
Within Barcelona, it is believed that they are considering submitting a bid of around 30 Million Euros in order to sign the right-back. Since they cannot afford to pay the full release clause at the moment.
However, Foyth is certainly a good player as he has already won the Europa League with an average Valencia side and he was also crucial in Argentina’s triumph in last summer’s Copa America. All in all, both the clubs need to make a decision soon as the transfer window closes within 2 weeks.
