This is surely the match of the tournament so far with many considering it as a ‘pre-final match’ cause defending champions France would take on their arch-rivals England at the Al Bayt stadium for a place in the World Cup semi-finals. Both teams are coming into this game in good form as they had comfortable round of 16 victories cause The Three Lions won against Senegal by 3-0 and the French won against Poland by a scoreline of 3-1.

So now coming into this encounter there would be so many battles to watch out for on the pitch, but mainly there is one that the footballing world would be looking upon which is Kyle Walker vs Kylian Mbappe. Both these players are by far the fastest footballers in their team and this is a battle where the game could be won and lost for either of these sides.

Because if Walker managed to shut down Mbappe who is the leading goal scorer in the competition with 5 goals then the major threat of France’s attack is diminished and then it’s all to play out for Southgate’s men. However, if the backline of England couldn’t manage to deal with the French sensation, then they would be knowing that Mbappe would break their defence apart and he’ll be scoring like a machine to put the game to bed.

But these 2 nations have come up against each other twice in the World Cup and France have never managed to beat them. However, now they would be looking to break that run and finally beat The Three Lions, whereas Southgate’s men would be looking to continue on that streak and also keep a 4th clean sheet in a row. All in all, this is going to be a blockbuster match.
