Dwayne Bravo has done it again. He has etched his name in the history books of T20 Cricket by becoming the first player to take 600 wickets in the shortest format.
Dwayne Bravo claims 600th wicket in T20
The star all-rounder broke this record while playing for Northern Superchargers in the Hundred. He came into the game with 598 wickets to his name and dismissed Rossouw of South Africa to claim his 599th. Then castled his ex-CSK teammate Sam Curran to claim his 600th wicket. Rashid Khan of Afghanistan is the second bowler on the list, with 466 wickets to his name.
Dwayne Bravo’s illustrious career in T20s
Since his international debut in 2006 against New Zealand, Bravo has represented 25 teams. He has picked only 78 wickets for his national team in 91 games. And the rest of the 522 wickets have come in franchise cricket.
Currently Dwayne Bravo is also the highest wicket-taker in IPL. He has claimed 183 scalps in 161 matches. In his long tenure in the marquee tournament, Bravo has won the purple cap twice. He is also the joint highest wicket-taker in one season; 36.
This doesn’t mean that Bravo has had a damped outing with his international side. Rather the opposite of it is true. Dwayne bravo has managed to win the T20 World Cup with his side and has some memorable outings with his compatriot.
He retired from the international circuit after the 2021 world cup. but the player is adamant about playing around the various leagues for a bit longer.
