Chelsea submit a new bid of €27 Million for Barcelona’s Pierre Emerick Aubameyang
According to widespread reports in the Spanish media, Chelsea football club are close to reaching an agreement with FC Barcelona for the sale of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang joined the Spanish Giants back in the January transfer window and that too on the deadline day. He was originally destined to sign for the side for a season long loan. But then things took a turn and both the sides decided to reach an agreement for a free transfer.
He signed a contract which would run until the year 2025 and Barca have set a release clause of 100 Million Euros in the contract, but they also have a clause in which both the club and Aubamayang might agree on a deal in which Pierre could leave for free in 2023.
Aubameyang to sign for Chelsea
However, it is now believed in Spain that Chelsea have made a breakthrough in the negotiations of this huge transfer saga which has been going on for a few weeks. The Blues had already submitted 2 bids under 20 Million Euros for the striker which were rejected by the La Liga side.
But now they have made a new which is a 27 Million Euros total package in which they’ll pay Barca 22 Million upfront and 5 Million are the variables in the deal. And hence it is very likely that both teams might complete this deal in a day or two.
Thomas Tuchel’s side hasn’t had the best of starts in the new season as in their first 3 games they have won 1, drawn 1 and lost 1. They are coming off an embarrassing defeat in their last match as Leeds United destroyed the Blues 3-0 in front of their fans.
So this shows that despite making a number of signings this summer with the likes of Sterling, Koulibaly and Cucurella in the list, they are still struggling for form and are lacking stability. They desperately need an outright striker cause they have already lost Lukaku and Werner to Inter Milan and RB Leipzig respectively.
Hence, Aubameynag would be the perfect fit the team and might solve many of their problems. All in all, both the clubs need to complete this deal soon as the transfer window closes within 10 days.
