Chelsea sacks Thomas Tuchel following poor run of results


Todd Boehly sack Thomas Tuchel as the head coach of Chelsea after the Champions league loss on Tuesday.
Thomas Tuchel was not getting results out of the squad he had,he also became the second manager in the premier league to be sacked following scott parker of Bournemouth.
Petty losses to Leeds, Southampton and drawing matches in the league was just topped by the crucial group stage loss on Tuesday , clearly Todd wasn’t going to take any chances in the crucial rebuild of the club and decided to sack the manager in order to not risk champions league glory.
Since Roman’s departure Chelsea’s transfer business seemed in jeopardy as they had no funds to renew contracts or sign new players. Even Rudiger went to Madrid, still the German coach got backed and signed ample of players and invested especially in the defense.
Thomas Tuchel was hanging by a Thread
The German manager’s job was already on red alert as he couldn’t grind out results from the start of the season, despite investing in the players the coach failed to deliver in the first 7 games of the season.
Still the question remains that was he deserved to be sacked just after 7 games this season. Out of which Chelsea won 3 and lost three drawing only one, the latest defeat in the champions league against Dinamo Zagreb was definitely the last straw. Thomas said in his post match interview that “everything is missing from Chelsea” and added that he wasn’t shocked that his side lost.
Sacking Tuchel will cost the Blues 15m
The club will have to pay 15m to sack the manager, the german was one of the premier league top earners. Tuchel was reportedly losing the dressing room.
The former PSG manager was paid 13m per year and with his backroom staff following him it adds to a 15m.
What’s next for The Blue Lions?
Todd Boehly is expected to list his top 2 targets as Brighton’s Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochenttino as Chelsea’s next manager, Chelsea are set to hold talks with Brighton over potter and a decision is expected come out soon .
Graham Potter is the frontrunner for the job and there is now speculation over Chelsea’s approach and his managerial career at brighton.
