David Malan, England’s number three batter, is sure to miss the T20 World Cup semi-finals after sustaining a groin injury while fielding against Sri Lanka in England’s final league encounter.

Malan hobbled off in the 15th over after collapsing while chasing a ball to the boundary. As England slumped in the latter stages of their pursuit, he was put up to bat, but he continued to fall down the order and was eventually not needed.
England has four days before their semi-final, which is against India, giving them one more day than the teams that will clash on Wednesday at the SCG. However, it appears like He will not be able to recuperate in time at this point.
