Arsenal has managed to sign another Manchester city player to bolster their squad for the 2022/23 season. Earlier the London-based club had signed City’s striker Gabriel Jesus. Now they have managed to capture their defender Oleksander Zinchenko.

The biggest reason behind the move is reported to be Zinchenko’s growing frustration with the role he was offered at City. The player was reportedly unhappy with the playing position offered at the Manchester-based club.

However, another influence on the transfer has been “Mikel Arteta.” The arsenal boss previously had a long tenure at Manchester City as the assistant manager. Hence, with his insight and great connection with the players, he has pulled two big names to his gunner’s squad.

Zinchenko contract details

The player is reported to have joined Arsenal on a “long-term contract.” And the fees offered by the club to Manchester City is said to be around 30 million pounds. With about 2 million in addons.

Speaking about the new signing, manager Arteta said, “Alex is a high-quality player who will give us options and versatility. It’s not only about the positions he can play but as well, the versatility he will give us in attack and defence.”

The 25 year old Ukrainian joined Manchester City in 2016 and made 128 appearances for the team. In his six years with the club, he won 4 premier league titles, 4 league cups, and 1 FA cup.

In short, Zinchenko has enough experience of what it takes to win trophies. With more first-team action at Arsenal, he will be expected to turn that experience into a result.

Arsenal looks strong as ever with their new signings this season. Besides Jesus and Zinchenko, they also signed winger Marquinhos, Matt Turner, and Fabio Vieira.

The question that every fan has on their mind is, will they be able to win any trophies this year?
